Springdale police arrested a man for scamming people out of money and possessions in exchange for spritiual healing.
30 year old Ivan Lopez, also known as Luka Tony, was arrested after police said he conducted a fortune teller scam out of his Springdale home. Police said Lopez targeted hispanics and told them he could offer cures for their money, health and love problems.
Police said fortune teller scammers often tell their victims to leave jewelry and money so they can cleanse them, but when they come back to claim their goods, the scammer has left town.
Police say Lopez scammed at least two victims and took over 26-hundred dollars from them.
Lopez was charged with one count of theft of property. Police believe lopez isnt new to this scam, it seems he also did the same scam in Florida.
Lopez has already bailed out of jail. His court date is in mid June, but police said they wouldnt be surprised if Lopez skips town, as many travelling criminals have lots of cash and dont stick around long.
