An amnesty program in Benton County is seeing success since almost one hundred people with warrants have already turned themselves in. The amnesty program will run until Friday at 11:59pm. Until then, anyone with misdemeanor warrants can turn themselves in to police without paying fines or spending any time in jail.
It’s not the first time the Benton County Sheriff’s Office or the Rogers Police Department have tried out the program, but it is the first time they’ve run them at the same time. Some of those who have turned themselves in have flown or driven from as far away as Florida to take part in the program, even one who says he’ll now finally be able to move back to Rogers now that he doesn’t have warrant hanging over his head.
