Some of the people who worked in the building for years say they're sad to see it go. The 119 year old ice house building sat right in the way of the widening project. The building originally served as a canning factory, then an ice house and finally as a dog food processing plant for Triple-T Foods. Sharon Wade worked in the old building for 15 years as a secretary for Triple-T. She says all the employees grew attached to the place over the years. "Everybody's kind of upset, you know, they've all worked here a long time. The plant manager, Fred Kirk, he's been here in this one location forty years...since I've worked here I've had a few of my family members pass away so it's something that I went through in this building." Wade says she remembers the building before she even worked there, when it still served as an ice house for the city. "As a kid we'd come over here and buy ice off the front dock here." Triple-T foods has relocated to Jefferson Street in Springdale. The city still hasn't reached a price agreement for the building with the owners-- that will be left up to a court to decide. It will take 7-10 days to completely demolish the building.
