(Little Rock) Governor Mike Beebe today asked the U.S. Small Business Administration to extend its loan-application deadline 30 days for victims of late-Februarys tornadoes.
Tornado victims have been able to apply for loans of up to 200 thousand dollars to repair and replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Loans up to 40 thousand dollars are available to homeowners and renters to repair or replace personal property.
Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may receive up to 1.5 million dollars to repair or replace real estate, equipment and inventory lost in the storms.
Residents of Desha - as well as all bordering counties - are eligible to apply for assistance. The current deadline to apply expires May 11.
