Arkansas State Police report that 41-year-old John Paul “Bo” Young has died from an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound. Agents were pursuing Young in a remote area of Drew Countyknown as the Cut-Off Creek area. Young was wanted for questioning in the murder of a 23-year-old woman, a 14-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old boy. The three were found shot in a Dermott home around 7:45 a.m.Saturday.
Deputies say Young stole a Toyota Tundra pickup truck early Saturday morning prior to the shootings. On Saturday afternoon, an airplane spotted that truck at the end of a country road near Cut-Off Creek. After a manhunt that lasted most of the day, law enforcement officers from agencies in three different counties slowly approached the truck fully armed. But when some deputies noticed that Young was unresponsive, thats when they came up close and determined he died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
KNWA has heard from neighbors that Young was the stepfather of the 14-year old girl and the 12-year old boy, but there is no official confirmation of that yet.
