Grubs Bar and Grill is staying put for now. The owner Jason Collins told us many patrons call and ask if they are still open.
While its disappointing to Collins to think of his business being torn down, its not his property. The property where Grubs is located is owned by the city and University; Grubs leases the property. The city holds the right to kick Grubs out and build a parking deck.
The Director of Operations for Fayetteville told us while the initial proposal was rejected, the city is actually submitting another one, for the same spot at the Grubs location.
The developers the city are seeking to build the parking deck have until June 5 to accept their request. Until then, Grubs is open.
