Northwest Arkansas continues to see some of the highest gas prices in the state. Wednesday, according to arkansasgasprices.com, a station in Springdale had the second highest gas prices in the state. According to a representative from Springdale’s Dandy Oil Company, the reason gas is more expensive in northwest Arkansas than in other parts of the state is because of where local vendors get their gas.
“The line comes in from Mount Vernon, Missouri. That’s what’s feeding northwest Arkansas, a seven inch pipe, one seven inch pipe.” Said a representative from Dandy Oil Company.
The spokesperson went on to say that gas from several pipelines in Little Rock is cheaper, but many vendors in our part of the state aren’t allowed to get their gas from there.
