In two days prices that were already record highs, shot up nearly 20-cents, and KNWA is the only station giving you advanced warning about impending price hikes. Thursday morning, average prices in Northwest Arkansas were hovering around the 3-dollars and 29-cents range...and just as we predicted Wednesday night...gas prices quickly soared to 3-dollars and 35-cents a gallon on Thursday. Less than 24 hours after that...It got worse. Friday, we found that some stations in Northwest Arkansas are charging 3-dollars and 46-cents a gallon...that's a 17-cent increase in just two days. We went to the White Oak gas station at the intersection of Crossover and Mission in Fayetteville where they're charging $3.46, to ask them some questions about prices. We stopped by this gas station Thursday afternoon, when gas was $3.35 a gallon, but the manager refused to answer our questions and threw us out of the store. So with an 11-cent increase overnight, we decided to come back with the same questions, but were again told to leave immediately. We gave the manager a number to have the person who sets the daily prices contact us at but so far, we've had no calls.
