Since March, Brian Bergthold of Bella Vista, has been free on bond up until now. Friday, the Bella Vista Police Department took Bergthold into custody to hold him for the U.S. Marshal's Office. Bergthold's 21 sex-related felonies involve boys who were placed in his home, 19 of his charges were for child pornography. Attorneys said federal authorites may take over prosecution of those counts. Federal sentences can be more severe than those given by the state. Bergthold is set to appear in Benton County circuit court June 14.
