Our investigation into high gas prices took us to the headquarters of PetrolMark, the owners of the gas station with the highest prices in the state. Steve Turner is the man in charge of the PetrolMark facility. We arrived in Harrison to be told he was out of town, not to return until Friday. We asked if his colleagues would reach him on his cell phone so that we may ask him questions over the phone. We were told Turner was unavailable.
Suddenly, Turner became available, but did not want to be recorded over the phone. He instructed his employees to throw my photographer out of his office, while I spoke with Turner on the phone.
Turner refused to answer any of our questions over the phone, because his explanation is too long, and we could not air a 20 or 30 minute conversation.
However, Turner did agree to meet with us personally in our studios on Friday when he is back in town.
Coincedently, the White Oak station that PetrolMark owns a mile away from their headquarters, sells gas at $3.19.
The White Oak station at Mission & Crossover in Fayetteville was selling a gallon of gas at $3.29.
