As we head into the holiday weekend, AAA says the average price for a gallon of gas in the state right now is $3.15, that's 3-cents lower than the record highs earlier this week. And for the first time since mid-May, gas prices across the nation failed to hit record highs... but the price decline will only amount to pocket change savings for drivers. Still, AAA predicts over 32-million people will travel by car this weekend-- up almost 2-percent from last year. People in Northwest Arkansas say the high prices won't stop their memorial day plans. "I'm going to just be traveling to Little Rock, not too far but far enough to where I'm going to have to spend an arm and a leg on gas," said Blaine Francis. "Right now you know, it's still high but if I have to go somewhere I'm going to go somewhere, you're going to pay for the prices," Jeremy Johnson of Fayetteville said. Fayetteville resident Jane Coffin said, "if you have to travel it's still pretty much the cheapest way to go...I have a family of six, we have four kids, so for us getting in an airplane and going somewhere is not even an option."
