Judy Ketcher says she and her neighbors were outside chatting when they learned the bear was running through the neighborhood. "Curious as we are, we came out to see where it was at and it was running across the neighbor's yards and there were people chasing it," Ketcher said. She says the frightened animal climbed up into a tree and stayed there for about two hours...before Arkansas Game and Fish officers were able to shoot it with a tranquilizer dart. "Then he got really sleepy and then he fell onto the ground and then they loaded him up." This isn't the young bear's first brush with the law, last night and early this morning people reported seeing it around town. For Ketcher, seeing a wild animal up close was as easy as stepping outside her front door. "It was exciting, it was very exciting on our street!" Game and Fish officers say the bear is two-and-a-half years old and weighed around 100-pounds.
