breaking news
Early this morning, a couple in Fayetteville spotted a light tan bear, roaming front and backyards near Old Missouri and Stubblefield Roads.
Later this afternoon, police and animal control were called to another house on Stubblefield Road, after one woman spotted the bear in a backyard tree. The chasers were unable to catch it.
Dwight Scott, the assistant director at the Tulsa Zoo, says the bear is probably wild, and the freeze earlier this spring could have killed a lot of the animals food for the spring and summer.
Authorities say that people are doing the right thing, by leaving the bear alone, and going inside. If you see a wild bear, be sure to call the authorities.
