construction2007-05-31-1180650251.jpgWe were unable to reach anyone with the Barber Group on Thursday, despite many phone calls and even stopping by their Springdale office...but recent reports say the Barber Group will not move forward with building the condominium project. Developers faced some fierce opposition from the very beginning. After several meetings, the planning commission denied the plans. Brandon Barber, of the Barber Group, then appealed the decision to the city council. After much debate and even a protest from some Fayetteville residents, the council approved plans for the 9-story project. But the fight wasn't over yet. Two Fayetteville men filed an appeal over the city council's decision to approve the project-- saying the council didn't follow the city's unified development ordinance at the time. And now, after all that, comes the news that Divinity won't happen at all.
