A 13-hour long police standoff in Jonesboro has ended with gunfire and the reported death of the gunman. Police say James Rouse held his wife hostage since 8 p.m. last night and refused repeated attempts to surrender. Police were called to their apartment at 908 Scott Street over an apparent domestic dispute. Rouse was reportedly armed with a shotgun. Just after 8:30 a.m., the sound of a shot - or shots - was heard from the residence and ambulances were called to the scene. Authorities say it appears Rouse took his own life. It is not clear whether his hostage or anyone else was injured.
