On Tuesday, a meeting at Fayetteville High School was held to get feedback from parents and patrons of the school about what the next step in the schools future should be. The meeting started at around 6:30 Tuesday evening in the schools auditorium. The faces in attendance at the meeting were familiar to the Fayetteville School Board because most of them belong to the same people who have attended so many meetings this year concerning the high school. Recently the school board voted to maintain a one campus high school system in Fayetteville, but also add ninth graders into the mix with grades ten through twelve. Meaning the problem of not enough room approaches the school very soon.
The sixty or so people who attended the meeting were given two options, five choices to consider before commenting. The options: Use the current high school site or build a new high school. The other five choices are to be considered if the current school is used. Cost for the possibilities listed in the meeting range from $61 million to $113 million. The school board hopes to make a decision by this July.
