A local television personality could face charges. The meterologist is accused of taking pictures of young girls at a local pool. Local TV meteorologist Justin Povick stands accused of harassing kids at the Creekmore Park swimming pool in Fort Smith. In a police report, Povick is accused of taking pictures of young girls. According to the report, the girls, ages four to 12, said they heard the shutter sound of a camera and were scared. When the young girls told an adult about the camera noises, the adult told police she looked over and saw Povick doing something underneath a towel or shirt. When Povick was approached by the swim coach, police say he took off running across the street into the woods. After chasing Povick for a few minutes, he came out of the woods holding his digital camera. Police say images were found on Povicks camera, but investigators wouldnt elaborate. Povick was taken to the hospital with injuries from running through the woods barefoot. Police say Povick faces harassment charges, punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. This case is now in the Sebastian County Prosecutors Office for review. The President and General Manager of Povicks employer released a statement Wednesday evening saying, "During the past 24 hours, we have been in contact with the Fort Smith Police Department regarding a matter involving meteorologist Justin Povick. While this matter is being investigated, Mr. Povick has been suspended from his duties."
