Quentin McCall is prostate cancer free. He attributes his health to early detection. "Its nice to know that its gone - and its still kinda hard to believe that I even had it," McCall says. "The key is to diagnose early - we hear it everyday but nobody does it."
Mike Simonson also is a prostate cancer survivor. When he found out, he could do one of two things. "I could do the watchful waiting, as they say and wait to see what happens, or I could get it taken out," Simonson said.
Simonson underwent a newer type of surgery to remove his cancer with the DiVinci robot. Dr. Zimmerman, a urologist in Rogers, explains that he stands behind a console and controls a robot that actually does the minimally invasive procedure to remove the cancer.
Regardless of new procedures, theres only one sure way to beat prostate cancer: Early detection.
