Federal authorities are taking over a local case. Mitchell Scott Johnson was facing trial this past Monday for possession of a gun and marijuana. Instead, Washington County Deputy Prosecutor Brian Lamb dropped the charges on the local level. Now the US Attorneys Office will take over on a Federal level. A grand jury will meet in Fort Smith at the end of the month to listen to the Federal Prosecutors case against Johnson.
