A judge denied a motion by two murder suspects, claiming a language barrier led them to say too much too police.
Attorneys for Serafin Sandoval-Vega and Manuel Camacho say the men speak Spanish, and dont understand English well. They also say police questioned the men without an interpreter, which led to statements that could help the prosecution. Police say the men understood them in English with no problems.
Sandoval-Vega and Camacho, along with Roxana Hernandez, are accused of shooting and killing Daniel Francis last May while driving on U.S. Highway 71. Francis was in another vehicle.
Both Sandoval-Vega and Camacho face the death penalty if convicted.
