Energy Bill Passes At Senate

The new bill means cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles would be required to travel 35 miles per gallon by the year 2020. The bill, which must pass the house now, also would penalize price gouging and give the government broader power to investigate oil companies. Advocates say this would make the nation less dependent on oil. Critics say, it would force car companies to build smaller cars, that american's do not want. Arkansas' Senators Lincoln and Pryor both voted for the bill.
