Franklin County Authorities are looking for a man that possibly drowned Sunday evening.
The man was wading in the Arkansas river, fishing with friends and family, when the current swept him off his feet.
The Johnson County Dive team was called in to help, but strong currents kept them out of the water.
The Arkansas River is up eighteen feet higher than the average water level. Authorities are asking that people use extra precaution when near a river.
Deputy County Sheriff Reed Haynes says:
"When that small craft advisory is out there dont go out on the river....dont go wading out there into the river to go fishing. Stay away from the river, its very dangerous."
The American Red Cross and other agencies have also been called in to assist crews and workers. The Franklin County Sheriffs Department is withholding the mans name until all of the family is contacted.
