Higher Food Prices After Grocery Tax Drops?

Though the state food tax will be reduced by 3% in July, one Northwest Arkansas restaurant owner says consumers will end up paying more for food. Rolf Wilkin owns Eureka Pizza. He says he’s noticed some impressive rises in food prices recently and that those increases will mean consumers pay more for food even after the tax is reduced. Wilkin tells us the price of cheese, wheat and corn is skyrocketing and because those ingredients are used in so many other food products, he expects prices will remain high for quite some time.
