Arkansas State Police held a press conference today to discuss Erin Hamley’s death, which was all caught on Trooper Larry Normans dashboard camera. The Arkansas state police said they were under the impression the man they were surrounding was Michigan fugitive Adam Leadford. In the dashboard video you can see Trooper Norman pulling onto the scene. Law enforcement is yelling commands at Hamley who starts to respond by getting on his knee, then lies down on the ground. Although Hamley is on the ground, Trooper Norman still fires his riffle, fatally shooting Hamley. Arkansas State Police said Norman made two fatal mistakes. Norman didn’t obey commands. He was only supposed to handle traffic. The other, when Norman stepped around his car fender. This forced the other officers to approach for safety reasons.
