Army Corps of Engineers Ranger Alan Bland spent Monday gathering water samples.
He cruised to all 12 of the swim beaches on Beaver Lake to fill his containers with water. The water is sent to the state health department and tested for more than 100 different problems.
Park rangers test the water several times a year, but theyre not the only officials keeping an eye on the lake.
"When were not testing by boat then the health department comes out and tests it so the swim beaches are tested all the time." Bland said.
If something is found in the water then the swim beach is shut down until the problem is fixed.
