Recent rains continue to cause chaos in the River Valley. Flood victims in Van Buren rushed to get their clean-up done before the rain started again Tuesday afternoon. When employees with the Van Buren Senior Inn got to work Monday, they found water everywhere, and site director Carrie Scott says theyve spent two days cleaning up the mess. "It was pretty bad. Thats all we done all day long is mop and water and mop and water," Scott says. Scott says whats worse is that the water came from the sewer, and it smells. "This is carpeted, and my back room is carpeted and the water goes over half way in that back room. You know, the carpet is still wet, and it stinks, it smells cause its that sewer water," she says. Scott says the Inn even had to turn down senior citizens for meals. "All of them come, and we had to turn them down because there was too much water," she says.. The water also damaged several other Van Buren businesses and homes. The National Weather Service says flood warnings are still in effect for all of the River Valley until further notice.
