The clouds cleared for a warm and dry Fourth of July celebration.
City planners moved the fourth of July celebration because of wet weather and the rising river, but they say the fireworks at Pendergraft Park will be just as good, if not, better. A city spokesperson says, "The view is just as good, in my opinion you dont have to look as far up you can see it a little bit better in the horizon."
They have a car show, live music, and much more. A city worker explains, "Worth coming out for, lots of nice classic cars out here, you know lots of people, lots of vendors, food, it will be great."
Some of the little ones have big plans fot their day! Jacob Higham explains, "Im gonna watch fire-works!"
Another little boy says he plans to, "watch the fourth of July and celebrate the United States of America."
A young girl explained, "Im with my family and friends and Im just having a good time because its just the Fourth of July."
The fireworks start at 9 PM. If you are on your way to the park, city officials say you should bring lawn chairs because the ground is still a little wet from yesterdays storm.
