A woman told Fort Smith Police that two men kidnapped her, beat her, stole her money, and then cut her hair. Twenty-year-old Christy Morse was staying at the Stonewall Jackson Inn. She says she was walking down Towson Avenue when she was kidnapped by some acquaintances. Officer Vincent Clamser, from the Fort Smith Police Department, explains, "She had gotten into jail in Las Vegas and she had been in jail for prostitution, and she came to Fort Smith to get away from that life and ran into someone that she had known" Police say they drove her to an apartment at 1706 South R Street. Clamser says, "they picked her up in their vehicle, drove her around town and had assaulted her, and cut some of her hair off, and took some money from her" Police found Morse’s hair near the apartment. Morse says the kidnappers stole $1,000 out of her purse. Police say they don’t think this case is drug or prostitution related. Clamser explains, "This event is over a financial dispute" Police say Morse gave them descriptions of both the kidnappers and their cars. Fort Smith police say they have three suspects. Now, they just need warrants.
