Dave Routon heads the Benton County based group called Citizens for Choice. he says, their goal is to make sure voters get a chance to vote on whether the county should remain a dry county or allow package liquor sales as well as remove current restictions from restaurants. Restaurants are able to serve alcohol in Benton County but only if they follow a specific set of "private club" regulations. On Saturday the pro-vote group will travel just across the border to collect signatures on a petition. They hope to collect the necessary 42,000 signatures to reach their goal, but realize it will take a lot of work to do so. Routon says he welcomes comment from residents who wish the county remain dry, but so far hasnt heard from any.
