A freak accident at a track and field event in Rome leaves a man impaled by a javelin. A Finnish javelin thrower slipped while launching his javelin, sending it flying outside the landing zone and into the back of a fellow athlete. The speared man is seen kneeling on the side of the track with the javelin sticking out of his back. Medical crews quickly rushed the impaled athlete to a local hospital. The seriousness of his injuries are not yet known. While dejected, the thrower was able to regain his composure and made another throw.
