gavel2007-07-17-1184682891.jpgGovernor Mike Beebe named Gary L. Carson of Fayetteville as Circuit Court Judge for the Fourth Judicial District, Fifth Division on Monday. Carson, 60, has practiced law in Northwest Arkansas for 35 years and has served as a substitute judge for the Fayetteville District Court. He has also volunteered his services to Legal Aid of Arkansas for more than 15 years. A graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law, Carson serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Governance Committee for the American Red Cross, Northwest Arkansas Chapter. Carson will fill a vacancy created by the departure of Judge Michael H. Mashburn, who informed Governor Beebe earlier this month that he was resigning from the bench for health reasons. The appointment will take effect on August 1.
