(Little Rock, AR) LM Glasfiber today announced plans to open a new facility in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Denmark-based company, which manufactures fiberglass windmill blades, expects the plant to begin operations in first quarter 2008 and to employ more than 1,000 people within five years. LM Glasfiber expects to sign the agreement with the State of Arkansas and the city of Little Rock in the immediate future. Governor Mike Beebe praised the announcement in a statement, saying the development is another step forward for Arkansas economy in todays global marketplace. The Little Rock plant will be LM Glasfibers third North American production facility; effectively doubling the capacity of the existing factories in Grand Forks, North Dakota and Gasp+¬, Quebec. The US is currently the largest market for new wind projects and the second globally in existing wind project installations. (Copyright 2007 Newsroom Solutions, LLC)
