An investigation into rash of crimes in the Fayetteville area put police on the look out for the man they believe is responsible...and thanks to a few leads, they also believe theyve found him. Fayetteville police have already recovered two vehicles stolen by the young man and they found something else. Stolen mail. Stolen mail from fourteen separate homes located all over Fayetteville. Thefts were reported anywhere from the North Crossover area to West Wedington Drive. Investigators tell us theres very little that can be done to prevent such thefts, but they do have one very important tip. Lock your car doors. Sgt. Shannon Gabbard tells KNWA that there have been over one hundred recent vehicle break-ins in the city and he says most probably could have been prevented if residents would have simply locked their car doors. The man accused of committing the rash of crimes, including car theft, mail theft and burglary, currently awaits extradition from Minnesota.
