newyorktimes2007-07-19-1184863382.jpgAuthor J.K. Rowling is ripping the "New York Times" for publishing a review of the newest Harry Potter book before it goes on sale. The review appeared in the newspaper's online version overnight, ahead of the official release of the eagerly awaited "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" this Saturday morning.
Rowling, who has become a millionaire from the series of popular tales about the boy wizard, responded to the premature publication with a terse statement. While expressing her gratitude for newspapers, booksellers and others who haven't quote, "attempted to spoil Harry's last adventure for fans," Rowling says she's "staggered" that some American newspapers have decided to publish what she called, quote, "purported spoilers in the form of reviews in complete disregard of the wishes of literally millions of readers, particularly children."
The final Harry Potter installment is expected to become the world's fastest selling book after months of hype and speculation about its contents. Rowling has hinted that at least one and possibly two of the main characters die in the final Potter book.
