Workers earning minimum wage will see a small increase in their paychecks starting this week. The new federal minimum wage will now be five dollars and 85 cents an hour, an increase of 70 cents. This marks the first time in ten years that the minimum wage has increased. A person working full time on the current minimum wage of five dollars and 15 cents will earn approximately 12,000 dollars a year, before taxes.
