Knight Vorachith, 20, is under arrest for a deadly shooting of 19-year-old Quy V. Nuygen of Fort Smith.
It all started at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Zero Street around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. Police say Nuygen was with a group of people who witnessed the shooting. They say Vorachith approached Nuygen, and the two got into an argument. After the group of friends walked away, witnesses say Nuygen was shot in the head and in the neck.
Vorachith drove away in a car with another man, making it to Grand Avenue. After a pursuit with police, the passenger in the car got out on foot and was caught. Vorachith then escaped in the car, and turned himself in to Fort Smith police.
Right now, police are not saying whether the shooting was gang-related.
