Knight Vorachith turned himself in to the Fort Smith Police Tuesday but, has not yet said why he shot Quy Nuygen.
Sergeant Vincent Clamser with the Fort Smith Police Department says the victim and the shooter knew eachother.
"We were told that there has been an ongoing disagreement between the shooter and the victim. What that was about, I am not certain of."
The Van Buren Police Department said that Nuygen filed a report saying that someone threw a can of Doctor Pepper at his house breaking the window. There was also another report filed by Nuygen on the morning of his death, saying his car had been broken into and his tire was slashed.
Sergeant Vincent Clamser says " We are not for certain that the reason why he was at the Wal-Mart was because he was trying to get his tire fixed."
Clamser also says he is not sure if theres a connection between those incidents and the shooting and if Vorachith had anything to do with the previous incidents.
