From the ground on Tuesday, the city of Lowell looked much like it does everyday...but with one exception. Almost anything going on for miles can now be seen by the citys police department. Lowell Police Chief Joe Sanders says the camera atop this cell tower near the fire department will not only help monitor problem areas, but also give officers the ability to collect vital information before leaving the station. Not to mention the camera is perfect for monitoring traffic situations. Some residents however worry about the cops peeking in on their private lives. However, Chief Landers tells us residents can put those concerns away because if the police department wanted to get a birds eye view of what folks were doing....they could do that anyway...using a helicopter.
