Airline passengers can soon carry cigarette lighters and breast milk on board. Effective this Saturday, the Transportation Security Administration is allowing most types of cigarette lighters such as Bics and Zippos, but is continuing its ban on torch lighters. The TSA is also allowing mothers to carry breast milk in quantities greater than three ounces as long as it is declared for inspection at the security checkpoint.
Congress banned lighters in 2005 and restricted carry-on liquids last year following some close calls involving explosives.
