State representative Mark Martin says hes been hearing a lot from his constituents who had children enrolled in Winslow schools before all Winslow schools were shut down...and the reason hes been hearing so much from them? Because, he says, theyre angry. Angry because they want the Greenland school district to release their children and allow them to attend West Fork schools....something that, so far, hasnt happened. Greenland would receive about $5,700 for each student transferring from closed Winslow schools....but Martin points out theyll get a good percentage of that money anyway for something called declining enrollment. Meaning, in his eyes, West Fork would get that extra $5,700 per student and Greenland would benefit as well. Mark Martin hopes he can just get the word out about his proposed compromise between districts. Something he feels will solve the problem and something that is owed to Winslow parents.
