fork2007-08-05-1186363666.jpgThe Old Post Office is back in business -- Rhett and Judy Hall will open their restaurant Urban Table to hungry customers Monday afternoon. The couple spent months searching for the perfect spot for their American-fare eatery, and found what they were looking for in the historic building. "It's exciting, it's just an amazing opportunity. I think as far as choosing this space, I think the building chose us," Judy says. Over the years several establishments have attempted to make a home in the Old Post Office. The building sat vacant for more than a year before Urban Table came along. But the Halls say they're in it for the long run. "My brother Shane is our general manager. He's been doing this for well over a decade and he and his staff have hired very good people, trained them well, it's just a completely different way of doing business," Rhett says. Built almost 100 years ago and a long-term resident of the national historic registry, the Old Post Office is now ready to serve the city of Fayetteville again, thanks to some TLC from the Halls. "Judy's had some really wonderful ideas about how to paint, decorate, bring it back to life because this place really was lifeless and now it's just vibrant, it feels good."
