After seven weeks off, some kids from Rogers are headed back to school as part of the districts continuous learning program. Students at Joe Mathias and Eastside Elementary started school Monday. Some students brought in their supplies for the entire school year, but others arent able to buy supplies.
"We have a lot of kids who arent worried about school supplies but where the next meal is going to come from," said Kendra Bookout, a fifth grade teacher at Eastside.
"Any child that doesnt have the supplies they need can just let us know and we can help with that,” said second grade teacher April Lane.
Lane often buys supplies for her kids with her own money, but now you can help teachers like Lane. Just bring school supplies to any Car Mart during business hours and give to KNWAs "Teachers Aide" program.
