breaking news
Neoma Houston left her daughters shop Thursday to go home. She didnt expect to find a man in the bushes waiting for her.
Houston explains, "I had my back kind of like this, and I got up in here, and he said, how are you doing Maam, and I turned around, like you know, I kind of turned around like this when I heard his voice and he said "Boo," you know right at my face, and I got to running when I started to run and back away from him, he grabbed me in the shoulder in my arm."
She says the man hit her, knocking her to the ground. Then he ran off with her purse.
Houston says, "They took my life, like my drivers license, and they thought I probably had credit cards but I didnt, and they took my social security card, and they took everything that was in my little special place...my insurance all of my stuff that they could get my identity off of."
The incident has Houstons family infuriated, and neighbors afraid.
Elizabeth Leigh, Houstons daughter, says shes "Mad angry that theyre too sorry to work, that they have to rob a little 77 year old woman for money. I mean thats sad."
Lillian Houston, a neighbor and family member says, "Its not fair, their just picking on the old people. Theyre doing that everywhere."
Police found Houstons purse down the street. They have not found her attacker. If you have any information, youre asked to call the Sequoya County Sheriffs Department at 918-775-1213
