Bingo, is one of the nations number one past times for seniors but charitable bingo, now legal in Arkansas, is about more than just getting out of the house. Jerry Myers has been in the bingo game for a while. He says his local american legion donates about 95% of its bingo profits to charity....but a new state tax has put that in jeopardy....because the one cent tax on a single bingo card costs more than the card itself. That cost alone wiped out the american legions entire scholarship fund for this year. And theyre not alone. A newspaper article on Wednesday interviewed several bingo enthusiasts who all feel the penny tax is simply unfair. Not only to the organizations using the game, but also to the people they help.
