Shihtzus, shelties, and other small dogs all abandoned.
The dogs were covered with fleas, maggots, ticks and mange.
Someone reported this deserted kennel to the Sebastian County Sheriffs Office.
Those at the home once breeded dogs, then just took off.
The innocent dogs were left for weeks without care.
The discovery in the little town of Bloomer Arkansas, just in time.
Two dogs were already dead.
"Its not good when anything dies but, thats better than what we thought we were going to run into" said Deputy Richard Rivera.
Now, folks are pitching in to take care of the abandoned dogs.
Local stores donating dog food and cleaning supplies.
Workers with the Sebastian County Humane Society are helping clean kennels and provide food and water for the animals.
"Ive seen some bad dogs, bad dogs in pretty bad shape but, nothing of this magnitude"said Rivera.
The Sebastian County Sheriffs Office say they should get a court order by Wednesday, which means the dogs will be taken out of the kennels and given a new home.
