The restaurant received a license to serve liquor last night. Restaurant owner, Richard Hodo, applied for the license four months ago and its caused quite a stir in Crawford county. Hodo says downtown Van Buren has been struggling for years and this will help. "We get calls all the time. Is there a place we can sit down and have a meal and a have a cold beer or a glass of wine or a mixed drink or something? and we have to tell them, you have to go to the next county and people dont understand that" said Hodo. Hodo says hes received letters from people in the community disagreeing with the license but, he says most of the businesses agree this will help downtown revenue. "I think its a nice thing. I think its about time they do something to help the community" said restaurant employee. Even out of towners say this is a good thing. "its going to be a hot spot soon" Now, Sisters Gourmet Bistro will be hiring for some more help to serve all those drinks. Hodo says he is not sure when he will receive the license. Sisters Gourmet Bistro is a private club but, all you have to do is pay five dollars a year per family and enjoy a nice sit down meal and a cold one in downtown Van Buren.
