unemployment2007-08-19-1187573164.jpgAccording to a report on Friday from the Department of Workforce Services, Arkansas' unemployment rate rose five-tenths of a percentage point to 5.5 percent in July. Experts say the increase in the July unemployment rate was unexpected, and can be attributed to an unusually large drop in employment versus a larger-than-normal increase in Arkansans looking for work.
