Its the first day of school at Monitor Elementary. This school is one of two new schools in Springdale to accommodate the rapid growth.
For these students it means new teachers, new classrooms and new friends. These fifth graders are learning new songs and getting a feel for their new surroundings. Parents say so far it seems to be a good start.
Building monitor elementary didn’t go as smoothly as the first day of class did thanks to the excessive rainy days of summer.
A playground is still in the works along with some last minute changes, but nothing major students will notice.
Monitor elementary is the tenth Springdale school built in the last six years. There are 545 students enrolled this year but the school will be able to accommodate up to 825.
