After getting approval from the Benton County Planning Commission, and winning a legal battle, developers began work on Grandview Heights Condominiums. They broke ground last November, but now construction has halted. Construction is at a stand still because the developers are waiting on a building permit. They must get approval from the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality before they can get the permit. ADEQ has put their application on hold for right now.
Developer Kevin Harrison said the project is right on schedule. Harrison said project leaders have been busy with paperwork and building plans. Harrison said about half of the units in the first building have sold and construction on the project should be completed by September of 2009.
