In its annual report, the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families take a look at child services across the state. They claim the number of victims seen by an investigator within 72 hours is only 71 percent, down 18 percent from seven years ago. Another issue is monthly visits. The AACF states 54 percent of children who remain at home arent receiving monthly visits from family service workers. The AACF points out family service workers are desperately needed, 11 percent of the positions are unfilled. The state legislature did increase the Division of Children and Family Services budget by 8 million, allowing for 75 positions to remain filled.
